How to login in?

1. Type www.bsf.a-star.edu.sg into your web browser.

2. Clicking on [Login] on the top right hand corner.

 

 

3. Fill in the relevant information, [Organization], [Username] and [Password].

 

Note that if you are an:

(i)Internal customer (A*STAR Research Institutes), your username and password is the userid and respective password for logging into Microsoft Windows.

(ii)External customer (non-A*STAR Research Institutes), your username is the userid selected/indicated by you. The password will be assigned to you.

 

4. Select your role as the [user] so that you can purchase from the portal, view your order history and your personal account information.

How to sign up?

For new A*STAR users, please contact your Finance Manager or Lab Managers. They will liaise with BSF to include your particulars into the system. Accounts will be set up based on the information (including the approving structure) provided.

For external users, please download the forms linked below and fax the completed form back to us. BSF will inform you when the accounts are created. Account creation will take approximately 2 weeks.

BioSupplies

How to make a purchase?

- After logging in, click [BioSupplies] on the top panel.

 

-Search for your desired product by (i) typing in the keywords (ii) clicking on the relevant category of products located on the left panel to view the extensive list of products.

 

-Note that BSC products have recently being re-categorized into (i)  FREEZER (ii) STOCK and (iii) CONSIGNMENT.

- Add desired items to your shopping cart by clicking  the shopping cart icon.

  

- Click [Items] or [Total] to view your shopping cart.

 

- View your shopping cart. Fill in the relevant details such as Lab name, PI, cost centre and WBS element (Note that the interface may vary slightly depending on which organisation belong to.

 

- click [Update] button to update any change

- click [Check Out] button.

 

- Check the information and confirm your order.

 

- Read through the “Terms and Conditions”. Click [I accept] to proceed with the transaction.

-Upon receive an acknowledgement of the confirmed order, the transaction is completed. Please print the order details for your kind retention.

What is the purchasing limit?

For A*STAR users, purchasing limit is fixed by the RI’s procurement policy. Pending on the total quantity, the web order will be routed to the appropriate personnel (PI, Finance) for approving. The maximum purchasing limit is SGD $70,000.

For External users, purchasing limit is determined by the user upon application. The average purchasing limit is SGD $5,000.

What are the different sales programs?

Stock – Consumables are purchased by BSF in bulk quantities so as to establish low pricing and greater savings for our customers. The Biopolis Supply Center (BSC) carries STOCK (identified by the icon )  consumables in Biopolis. Customers may collect these items within 4 hours from purchasing through the BSF Web Portal.

Freezer – Consumables are stocked in the freezers in the Biopolis Supply Center (BSC), offering convenience and low pricing of temperature sensitive consumables and kits. Customers may collect FREEZER (identified by the icon ) consumables within 4 hours from purchasing through the BSF Web Portal.

Consignment – Consumables are stocked in the vendors’ warehouse in Singapore. Items are made available for purchase via the BSF Web Portal. Upon confirmed purchase, items will be delivered to the Biopolis Supply Center (BSC). Customers will be informed via email of their goods when it is ready for collection. Delivery times for CONSIGNMENT (identified by the icon ) may vary from 1 to 4 working days. For backordered items requiring longer delivery time, a delivery schedule will be sent to the customer via email.
