BSF X-ray Crystallography Laboratory houses:

• Rigaku/MSC FR-E SuperBright X-ray generator with a Cu target, VariMax-HR optic, R-AXIS IV++ imaging plate detector and Xstream 2000 low temperature system. It matches the power of bending magnet synchrotrons and allows rapid home data collection.
  
  
• Rigaku/MSC MicroMax-007 HF X-ray generator with a Mo target, VariMax-Mo optic, R-AXIS SPIDER imaging plate detector and X-stream 2000 low temperature system is also available. The cylindrical imaging plate detector can be used with all possible target materials, and is also suitable for powder X-ray diffraction.
  
  
• Crystal growth automation system from Rigaku, which is fully integrated and automates every step from crystallization screen creation, plate set up, nanolitre liquid dispensing, plate incubation, scheduled image acquisition and optimization of crystallisation conditions.

We also offer the use of a HEPA-filtered wet laboratory with analytical balance, precision balance, nitrogen purged desiccator, flammable storage cabinet, acid storage cabinet, stirrer hot-plate, vacuum filtration, single centrifuge with rotors for everything from PCR tubes to 96-well blocks, pH / conductivity meter, chemical hood, high volume type I deionized water system, Geiger counter, pipettors and stereomicroscope.
